Santiago Salazar Simmonds is a Dallas-based Colombian violinist, educator, and arts administrator whose work spans performance, artistic leadership, teaching, and international cultural collaboration. He currently serves as Director of Artistic Operations at Snow Pond Center for the Arts in Maine and Personnel Manager of the Snow Pond Chamber Players
Orchestra, while maintaining an active performance, teaching, and artistic leadership career throughout the United States.
As a performer, Salazar has appeared with orchestras and festivals across the United States, Latin America, Europe, and international touring projects, including Filarmónica Joven de Colombia, The World Orchestra (TWO), Springfield Symphony Orchestra, and the University of Kansas Symphony Orchestra, where he served as Concertmaster and Principal Second Violin. His artistic collaborations have included projects with internationally recognized conductors and artists including Andrés Orozco-Estrada, Carlos Miguel Prieto, Rachel Barton Pine, and Francesco Manara.
Salazar has been featured on NPR’s From the Top and has participated in international festivals and artistic initiatives in Colombia, Aruba, Russia, and the United States. In addition to his performance career, he maintains active work in arts administration, festival leadership, teaching, and projects focused on Latin American musical heritage and repertoire development.
