Regina McAllen

Music Director - Musical Theatre Concentration

Regina McAllen is an award-winning musical director, voice teacher, pianist, and choral conductor. Originally from the Yukon Territory in Canada, she trained at the Vienna Conservatory in Austria before earning degrees in Piano Performance, Piano Pedagogy, and Music Education from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. There, she performed with Leonard Bernstein, Luciano Pavarotti, the New York Philharmonic, and the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Regina has spent her career training young performers at a nationally recognized performing arts high school in New Jersey. She has also taught and accompanied at Paper Mill Playhouse and the Rutgers University High School Musical Theatre Academy.

A seasoned musical director, she has led over 125 productions, garnering numerous nominations and wins at the Count Basie Awards, Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards, and the Jimmy Awards.

Her students have gone on to perform on Broadway (18 productions so far), as well as national tours, Disney, cruise lines, Miss America, and most recently, Audrey Nuna as the voice of Mira in KPop Demon Hunters.

Regina’s honors include multiple Canadian Advanced Artists Grants, the Algonquin Theater’s Arts Educator of the Year Award, presented by Tony Danza, and three Grammy Music Educator Award nominations. She has also performed at the White House Holiday Celebration for President Barack Obama.

She holds a Master of Music Education and is currently finishing up a Ph.D. at the University of Southern Queensland, with research focused on female Broadway performers’ use of vocal mix.
